About Orchha

Orchha is a small medieval town on the Betwa river, once the capital of the Bundela kings. Its palaces, temples and royal cenotaphs feel frozen in time, which makes it one of the most rewarding day trips from Gwalior.

Orchha is also a living pilgrimage town: Lord Ram is worshipped here as a king at the Ram Raja Temple, with a guard of honour every day.

Highlights

  • Ram Raja Temple
  • Jahangir Mahal and Raja Mahal
  • Chaturbhuj Temple
